H.C. Starck & ICM America a true Team effort from start to finish.

About H.C. Starck

H.C. Starck is an international group of companies with more than 3,400 employees at 14 production sites in Europe, North America and the Far East.

H.C. Starck produces an assortment of refractory metal powders that is unique the world over and is also a leading supplier of specialty chemicals and products formulated for the electronics industry.

H.C. Starck became a member of the Bayer Group in 1986 and maintains certified Quality Management Systems at all of its sites.

H.C. Starck in Boston, Massachusetts becomes the first subsidiary of Bayer Corporation’s North American operations to “Go Live” with the full SAP Business Platform, choosing only to exclude the Human Resources, Project Systems, and Workflow modules. “We opted to implement the entire package,” says Project Manager Raymond Houle, “recognizing that our overall operations would benefit from the integration of every facet of our business.”

Completing the implementation in just under ten months enabled H.C. Starck to upgrade and redefine business processes with minimal disruption to its ongoing work. That has been ICM’s goal since the group was founded over seven years ago and considers it value added to our expertise.

Larry McHugh, President of H.C. Starck and Project Sponsor in Boston, comments that the H.C. Starck and ICM teams deserve recognition for uncommon quality. “ICM’s consultants shared knowledge with H.C. Starck’s people, and we benefited from their ability to teach. Both teams worked long hours and resolved tough issues.”

Lisa McCann, Director of SAP’s Boston office, supported the H.C. Starck SAPower project from kick-off to the go-live date.
